Aegis AI now analyzes dispute evidence automatically — checking for manipulation, consistency, and confidence. Here's what's new.

Today we're launching Aegis Evidence Intelligence — a major upgrade to how disputes are resolved on EscrowGuard.

The problem

When a buyer or seller opens a dispute, they upload screenshots, chat logs, and other evidence. Until now, moderators reviewed all of this manually — reading every screenshot, cross-referencing with chat history, looking for inconsistencies. This worked, but it was slow (1–5 business days) and inconsistent (different moderators sometimes reached different conclusions).

The solution: Aegis Evidence Intelligence

Now, when evidence is uploaded to a dispute, Aegis AI automatically:

1. Analyzes for manipulation

Aegis detects:
  • Edited screenshots (inconsistent fonts, mismatched timestamps)
  • Spliced images (parts copied from other sources)
  • Reused images (uploaded to multiple disputes)
  • AI-generated content (where detectable)

2. Scores consistency

Aegis cross-references the evidence with:
  • The original listing description
  • The deal chat history
  • Platform analytics (if available)
  • Other disputes involving the same parties
A high consistency score = the evidence matches what was agreed. A low score = something's off.

3. Generates a confidence score

Each piece of evidence gets a 0–100 confidence score. Moderators see the score and the reasoning behind it.

4. Flags suspicious patterns

If Aegis detects:
  • The same screenshot uploaded to 3 different disputes
  • An "edited at" timestamp inconsistent with claim
  • A login IP that doesn't match the claimed location
...it flags the evidence for moderator review.

How this helps

For legitimate users

  • Faster dispute resolution. Aegis can pre-clear straightforward cases in hours instead of days.
  • More consistent outcomes. AI doesn't have bad days or biases.
  • Better scam detection. Manipulated evidence that might fool a human won't fool Aegis.

For moderators

  • Focus on hard cases. Aegis handles the obvious ones.
  • Better information. Moderators see Aegis's analysis alongside the raw evidence.
  • Audit trail. Every Aegis analysis is logged for transparency.

For scammers

  • Harder to game. Manipulated evidence is detected.
  • Repeated patterns caught. The same scammer using the same fake screenshot across multiple deals is flagged.

What Aegis doesn't do

  • Make final decisions. Moderators still review and approve every dispute resolution. Aegis provides analysis; humans make the call.
  • Read your private chats. Aegis only processes evidence you explicitly upload to a dispute.
  • Auto-ban users. A low Aegis confidence score doesn't auto-suspend anyone — it just means the moderator looks closer.

Privacy & security

  • All evidence is encrypted at rest.
  • Aegis processes evidence in a sandboxed environment.
  • Evidence is deleted 30 days after dispute resolution.
  • No evidence is ever shared with third parties or used for AI training.

What's next

Aegis Evidence Intelligence is live for all disputes starting today. Over the next month, we'll be: 1. Adding video evidence analysis (currently Aegis handles images and PDFs). 2. Roll out language translation for non-English evidence. 3. Adding a "Aegis summary" that parties can see (without revealing the underlying analysis) — so both sides know how strong their case looks. Try it by opening a dispute on any active transaction. We'd love your feedback. Stay safe out there.
