What to ask about an AI tool
Which model or API it uses
Ask which provider the tool depends on and what a month of use costs at your volume. A cheap tool can be expensive to run.
Code or wrapper
Some tools are a thin layer over someone else's API, others contain real work. Both can be worth buying, at very different prices, so ask to see the code structure.
Data and rights
If a model was trained on data the seller had no right to use, that problem comes with it. Ask where the training data came from.
How to buy an AI tool safely
