What to check on a template or design
The licence
Many themes are sold under a licence that can't be passed on. Ask whether the sale includes a transferable licence or only the seller's own work, and whether future updates come with it.
Fonts, icons and images
These are often licensed separately from the design. Ask which assets are included and under which terms.
The stack
Ask for the framework and its version. A template on an old major version can take longer to update than a fresh build.
How to buy a website template safely
- 1Pick the website template you want and put your questions to the seller in the deal chat before paying.

- 3The seller hands over inside the deal chat, which is checked for common scam patterns.
- 4Download the source files, open them in the tool they were made for and check they match the listing. Do all of it while your payment is still held.
- 5Confirm receipt once everything matches, which releases the payment to the seller. If something is wrong, open a dispute and a moderator decides.
Selling a template or design
Say what the buyer can do with it, list the framework or tool, and point out any assets that need their own licence.
Deliver the files after the payment shows as held. You are paid when the buyer confirms.

Do I get exclusive rights to a template?
Only if the seller says so in the listing. Many templates are sold to several buyers. Ask before you pay.
Are updates included?
That depends on the seller and on the original licence. Agree it in the deal chat.
How is a design delivered?
As files in the deal chat once your payment is held. Check them before you confirm receipt.
