Before you buy a LoL account

LoL accounts listed here range from fresh level 30 accounts that can queue ranked to old accounts with hundreds of skins, Prestige editions and a ranked border from past seasons. Sellers quote the region, the tier from Iron to Challenger, champion count and the skin list.

Riot changed the picture in September 2025. It now detects and bans accounts that were bought, and it has started copying penalties across all the accounts one person owns. Anyone buying a League account should know how that works first.

Riot's purchased-account bans

Since patch 25.18 in September 2025, Riot bans accounts that weren't leveled and played by one person, and it looks back as far as its detection allows. Its FAQ says a bought account will almost certainly be banned.

Penalties follow the person

Since November 2025, some penalties on one account are also applied to other accounts Riot links to the same player. A ban on a bought account can reach the buyer's own main account.

Region and ranked unlock

An account is tied to one region, such as EUW, NA or OCE, and can't play elsewhere without a transfer. Ranked needs level 30, 20 owned champions and 10 Swiftplay or Normal Draft games.

Who holds the sign-up details

Riot settles ownership disputes from the original sign-up information. If the first owner files a recovery, Riot's support article says the buyer is the one who loses out.

How to buy a League of Legends account safely

1Pick the League of Legends account you want and put your questions to the seller in the deal chat before paying.
2Click Buy with Escrow Protection and pay the price plus the 6% escrow fee. EPICSWP holds the money; the seller doesn't receive it yet.
3The seller hands over inside the deal chat, which is checked for common scam patterns.
4On account.riotgames.com, take over the email, password and linked logins, verify the email, turn on MFA and log out everywhere. Do all of it while your payment is still held.
5Confirm receipt once everything matches, which releases the payment to the seller. If something is wrong, open a dispute and a moderator decides.

Selling a League of Legends account

List the region, level, champion and skin counts, rank and any past penalties. Riot looks at MMR history and how an account was leveled, so be honest about both.

Never sell the same account twice or keep the sign-up email. Riot names both as the scams it sees most often.

Create a free listing

Riot's Terms of Service, section 1.5, ban selling or transferring an account, and Riot's League support says account trading gets accounts permanently banned. Its October 2025 FAQ called this a final warning. Escrow only decides when the seller gets paid.
