How to buy a Discord account or server safely

Aged Discord accounts, active servers and accounts with rare badges all sell. Before you buy one, know the rules and what to check.

In short

Discord's Terms of Service forbid selling, licensing, lending or transferring an account or username without Discord's written approval, and its Platform Manipulation Policy says not to buy or sell accounts, usernames, servers, server permissions or vanity URLs. Discord can act on accounts and servers it finds were sold, and escrow only protects your payment. If you go ahead, use escrow and never pay outside the platform.

What you can buy

• Discord servers with an established community
• aged accounts, often from 2015-2020
• Early Supporter accounts (the badge went to people who bought Nitro before 10 October 2018)
• accounts with Nitro, which lasts only until its paid period ends
• partnered servers
• boosted servers at Level 1, 2 or 3

Step 1: Check the member count (servers)

Ask the seller to screen-share Server Settings showing the member count. Check:

• total members against members online
• how often people post in the active channels
• member growth over time, if available

Step 2: Check engagement

A smaller server where many members are online and talking is usually a better buy than a bigger, silent one. Activity matters more than the headline number.

Step 3: Check badges (accounts)

• Early Supporter can't be earned any more. Check it on the live profile, not a screenshot.
• For Nitro, check the subscription and renewal date in User Settings.
• Partner status is granted by Discord, which can take it away. A vanity URL or animated icon doesn't prove it, since boosted servers get those too.
• HypeSquad house badges came from a free quiz, so they add little.

Step 4: Check account age

Discord shows a "Member Since" date on the profile, and the user ID (copy it with Developer Mode on) encodes the exact creation date. Ask the seller to show both on a screen share.

Step 5: Use escrow

Never pay directly. On EPICSWP:

1. Your payment is held in escrow.
2. The seller transfers the server or hands over the account in the deal chat.
3. You check you have full access.
4. The money is released only when you confirm, or when a moderator decides a dispute.

Step 6: Server transfer process

For servers:

1. You join the server.
2. The seller opens Server Settings > Members and picks Transfer Ownership from the menu next to your name.
3. The transfer is instant.
4. You confirm in the deal chat.
5. The money is released.

Step 7: Account transfer process

For accounts:

1. The seller removes their payment method from the account.
2. The seller changes the email to yours.
3. The seller gives you the password in the deal chat.
4. You set up your own two-factor authentication.
5. You log out all other sessions.
6. You confirm in the deal chat.
7. The money is released.

Step 8: After the transfer

• Turn on two-factor authentication straight away.
• Change the password.
• Remove authorized apps you don't recognize.
• For servers, check admin roles and remove admins you don't know.
• Check the boosts. They belong to the members who boost, so some may drop after the sale.

Red flags

• The seller won't screen-share.
• The member count doesn't match the activity.
• A badge looks fake (check the live profile).
• The seller pushes you to pay outside the platform.
• The server has a history of raids or spam.
